1. Who we are
These Terms apply to your use of chicay.co.uk ("the Site") and to bookings made with Chicay Hair ("we", "us", "our"), an independent hairstyling service based in Lewisham, SE13, London, United Kingdom. You can contact us at info@chicay.co.uk.
2. Acceptance of these Terms
By browsing the Site, creating an account, or booking an appointment you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or book with us.
3. Bookings, deposits & payments
- All appointments must be booked through the Site. A non-refundable deposit of £20 is required to confirm your slot; the balance is paid in salon on the day.
- Deposits are paid by bank transfer using the reference shown on your confirmation. Your slot is not held until the deposit is received and reconciled.
- Prices, service durations and add-ons shown on the Site are correct at the time of booking; we may update them for future bookings without notice.
4. Rescheduling, cancellations & no-shows
- You may reschedule once, free of charge, up to 48 hours before your appointment. Inside 48 hours your deposit is forfeited.
- Cancellations are non-refundable. The deposit is treated as compensation for the reserved time.
- Arriving more than 15 minutes late may result in your appointment being shortened or rebooked, at our discretion, with the deposit forfeited.
- If we need to cancel or reschedule for any reason, you will be offered the next available slot or a full refund of any deposit paid.
5. Hair preparation & client conduct
- You must come with hair washed, blow-dried and detangled, unless your booked service includes a wash.
- Please tell us in advance of any allergies, scalp conditions, recent chemical treatments, or pregnancy that may affect the service.
- We may decline or stop a service if we believe it would be unsafe, if your hair condition makes the desired result unachievable, or if behaviour is abusive or threatening. Deposits remain non-refundable.
6. Results & satisfaction
We work to deliver the agreed style to a professional standard, but exact results depend on hair type, length, condition and the products supplied. If you are unhappy, please raise it before leaving the chair so we can adjust. We do not offer refunds for completed services.
7. Children & vulnerable clients
Bookings for under-16s must be made by a parent or guardian who remains responsible for the appointment. By making the booking you confirm you have the authority to do so.
8. Website content & intellectual property
All text, photos, video and design on the Site are owned by Chicay Hair or our licensors. You may view and share links to the Site for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, scrape or redistribute Site content without our written permission.
9. Photos in the salon
We sometimes photograph completed styles for our portfolio and social media. We will always ask before taking a photo and you can decline without affecting your service.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Site to: book fraudulently, interfere with its operation, attempt to access another customer's account or data, or upload anything unlawful, harmful or infringing.
11. Availability of the Site
We try to keep the Site available and accurate but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend, withdraw or restrict any part of it for maintenance, security or business reasons.
12. Our liability
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for: indirect or consequential loss; loss of profits, opportunity or goodwill; or any damage that was not reasonably foreseeable when you made your booking. Our total liability for a booking is limited to the price paid for that booking.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the one published on the Site at the time you book.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
